KYB Complete strut assemblies [Edit: Order status] went from "technical review" to "product availability hold" on tirerack.com. This is my first tire rack experience. This will also be pretty much only my 2nd piece of mechanic work ever.
Which is why I won't shut up about it. (Sorry).
Have a local Ottawa taxi for reading.

Remember, if you need a hand, I'll be available on Sunday. I'll bring my toolbox if needed.

That's a cool taxi.
Quick struts are fucking awesome. I have Gabriel quick struts on my car.
I've never heard of "technical review" as an order status before. What does that mean? Usually you see shit like "in stock", sold out, only x left (x usually being a single digit), or "less than x left", or "back order"
Or are you talking about your order status?

That little taxi sits outside of a local restaurant most of its life, never see it elsewhere.

Sounds good. Not sure the parts are gonna make it for this weekend....the struts I was *going* to get (monroe's) actually don't fit Mexican made Cavaliers only Murican made ones, and my Cavalier was mexican made. (Inner fender well size difference).
Hence I went with tire rack instead of amazon and the shipping is going to be slower.
Your offer is much appreciated though. I will definitely provide beverages (or if you don't drink...some other type of food or something) if I end up needing your help.

I meant order status. Sorry. I think they are on back order.
Edit: I would not attempt this job without quick struts. Not interested in compressing springs. My dad (who probably last wrenched on cars 20 years ago) said struts are really hard. But....this was before quick struts had been invented I think. In my case it's going to be 5 bolts. In the infamous works of Jeremy Clarkson "How hard can it be".

Also a Minor happening.

This is my first experience. It was their fitment guarantee that really sold me to them, especially in this case with Mexican and Murican built Cavaliers needing different front struts because of inner fender well size.
Free shipping to Ogdensburg as well...which is good. Just got to cross dat border. Anything to declare? "Uhhhh".

Met the owner once. Guy has like 20 cars.

See if you can get an ETA from the rack.
Too bad KYB quick struts aren't available for my car though :( but the Gabriels are holding up just fine.
What kind of car do you have? On my ES300 (Camry), I had to cut the sway bar links off since the hex hole you need to remove the nut was rusted out. If you need to get new sway bar links, Deeza is a good brand.
And of course, good luck!

I took the front shocks out of the jetta last year, because of the "special" suspension setup it has, no parts shop knew about them. Compressing shocks is risky, I used a wall mounted compressor and replaced the mounts and bearings as well.

thanks! I actually just had my left sway bar link replaced...so hopefully I don't have to cut it out. I have a 2003 chevrolet cavalier that was riced out by the previous owner. Luckily he avoided adding a big stupid wing.
